ICOMOS does not believe that this report accurately reflects the ICOMOS comments, nor does it adequately respond to them. Secondly, the plans provided do not adequately address the heritage issues that have been raised.
Peter Channon told the committee that “a dreadful state has befallen Hayle” with the development. He compared the development site as looking like a bombed site in Beirut.

Submitted by via Hayle Pump ... on Mon, 24/08/2020 - 12:06.
Work is progressing well on the regeneration of North Quay with a number of milestones achieved in recent weeks.
Corinthian Homes started work on site in January and the first block of new quayside townhouses, Cannery Row, has superstructure complete and is on course for the first residents to move in during autumn. We are also busy with major excavations and reinforced concrete work to quaysides in preparation for further development, including the creation of underground car parking and incorporation of tidal defences as part of site-wide flood mitigation measures.

200901 | North Quay Footpath Registration-Your Help Needed
Submitted by via Hayle Pump on Mon, 24/08/2020 - 11:37.
Many of you will have noticed fencing and signs going up on North Quay cutting off footpaths that have been walked, unimpeded, for decades if not centuries. This sign accompanies the fencing cutting off the paths to the south and west of the cricket club.
Even the Electric Works Road, used since 1905 when the original footpath was cut off by the power station, now has a ‘permissive footpath’ sign implying that the owner could refuse permission at any time. I can remember driving a car along this path back in the 70s and 80s.
