MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, George Eustice said: "I am really pleased to hear that the Department for Transport is reducing congestion at the roundabout of Loggans Moor.

"It is often clogged up over the summer months and these improvements will greatly ease the traffic on the A30. Better transport links always benefit the local economy."

The scheme is part of the Highways Agency's pinch point programme, that will see a total of £317 million invested by the government for 119 schemes nationwide that aim to boost the economy, reduce congestion and improve safety by 2015.

By improving Britain's motorways and A-roads, the government estimates a substantial economic benefit of £1.4 billion.

At Loggans the north arm of the roundabout will be widened providing two lanes on the approach for approximately 80 metres and also providing a two lane exit on the A30 south arm.

Work on the roundabout is estimated to start next year and finish in 2015.
