Wiring the Components - Twelve Drummers

The most labour intensive part of the build was probably the wiring stage. Picture 6 shows the backplate with the equipment mounted on it, and in the very early stages of wiring up.

In total there were around 300 wires of different colours and sizes to cut to length, both ends stripped back, the ends “tinned”, then cable marker numbers put on, and finally the 600 ends secured into their respective termination points.

 

By now work was continuing 7 days a week, and the wiring was completed in just over a week (picture 7).
