Treasure Hunt and BBQ this Saturday 27th July 4pm at The Angarrack Inn! The Treasure Hunt is in aid of the Christmas lights and takes place this Saturday 27th July starting at 4pm (so well before youngsters bedtimes!) in the pub car park. Follow a trail round the village collecting some odds and ends and see how many of our questions you can answer… The trail ends back at the pub where there will be a BBQ to help revive you! Each completed entry will be placed in a draw for a prize and each entry scoring 75% or more will be placed in another prize draw. Lights Start To Go Up in Oct.  read more »

The Duck Race is coming! The Summer Duck Races will be held on Saturday 25th May starting at 4pm. There will be a BBQ, crepes, a bottle stall and of course the ‘tote’ on the duck race results! There will be lots of races for youngsters, teens and slightly olders plus the champion of champions race… The duck race is a fun afternoon for all!  read more »

25 Years of Angarrack Christmas Lights! This year the Angarrack Christmas Lights will be 25 years old. The Christmas Lights are now ready to go but we’re always in need of volunteers to help in lots of ways, eg with Switch On night or with collection bucket shaking. Jumble Sale 3rd September We will be holding a Jumble Sale from 10am on the 3rd September at Phillack Hall in Hayle by the Co-Op. If you would like to donate any items then please take them to Nikki at 29 Riverside (preferably up to three days in advance) who will be very pleased to accept them! The Christmas Lights now going up — Switch on — Saturday 4th December, 7pm by the Pub. The Christmas Lights are going up on the 17th-21st and we’re always in need of volunteers to help in lots of ways, eg with putting lights up or with Switch On night or with collections. Christmas Lights Committee AGM 2010 The Annual General Meeting of the Angarrack Christmas Lights Committee will be held on Wednesday 10th March at 8pm in the village hall.  All are welcome! The AGM is where members of the committee are elected so if you wish to help and have an input ino the village lights then please come along and stand for election. We look forward to seeing you! The Christmas Lights will be being taken down and put back into storage for another year on Sunday 24th Januray.  All volunteers to help with taking down the lights will be welcome!  We are meeting in the village square at 8am.  Do come if you are interested as we're a very friendly bunch!  read more »

The Christmas Lights Jumble Sale will be held in the Phillack Hall in Hayle (in front of the Co-Op) starting at 10am on Saturday 17th October. Any items of jumble you can give gratefully accepted. There will be a Jumble Sale in October the proceeds in aid of the village lights! The date to be announced. Any items of jumble you can give gratefully accepted. Please take to Chris at Cherry Trees on Riverside. Please also find an envelope with this newsletter for any donations you can make to the lights. Again please return these to Chris at Cherry Trees on Riverside. This year there is going to be a prize for the best lit private house in the village! Up and coming fundraising events: Firstly a big thank you to everyone who came to switch on. We hope you all had a great time. Due to an oversight some of the raffle ticket sold to raise money for the lights were not entered into the draw on the night. So there will be a second raffle with similar prizes to celebrate the New Year. We feel this is the fairest way to make up for the mistake, so good luck in the New Year. Up and coming fundraising events: There will be a 60’s 70’s and 80’s theme disco at the bottom of the Pub car park, with a BBQ on Saturday 30th of August. The disco is free so come along and have a dance or two. Drinks will be available all night from the Pub. We haven’t had much of a summer yet, but lets have a party anyway.
