RJ SUPPLIES HAYLE SUBMIT PLANS TO DEMOLISH AND CREATE HOUSING | Hayle development discussion group | Facebook

David W Raymer
David W Raymer That will improve the area but is it what we want there, light industrial units might be better for Jobs creation ?
Stephen Cornish
Stephen Cornish It'll look nicer, that's the plus point.
Ken Townend
Ken Townend New indoor swimming pool or GP surgery or possibly a School may all be more useful.
Stuart Rotman
Stuart Rotman whilst developing put a mini round about at that junction as its a nightmare to get out of there at times.
Ana Coelho Bailie
Tracey Harrison
Jane Relf
Jane Relf That will certainly improve the area , and as for light industrial units there are plenty empty and room for more behind the rugby club .
Nicola Hurrell
Nicola Hurrell think we need a primark
Nicola Hurrell
Nicola Hurrell hayle has enough houses x
Beryl Bez Smith Curran
Beryl Bez Smith Curran Oh dear what a shame, quick someone get a grade 2 listed building slapped on it then we could scaffold it up for ever more.
Graham Baumbach
Graham Baumbach Not before time..... long overdue. Just curious why does Hayle need another GP Surgery or School? Primark? Yeah right dream on lol!
Nicola Hurrell
Nicola Hurrell
Nicola Hurrell y does hayle need more houses
Sarah Johns
Graham Coad
Graham Coad There are over 500 households on the Cornwall Homechoice Register who, for one reason or another want affordable homes in Hayle Nicola. A proven need.
Graham Baumbach
Graham Baumbach A: Not a big enough site, and B: can you just imagine the ballache of getting through Hayle?
Nicola Hurrell
Nicola Hurrell it be fine x it wil just be the same if more houses went up
Sharon Lee
Sharon Lee Yet more houses why not something everyone can use or shop there that everyone can afford to go in a b&m or pound stretcher anything but houses
Nicola Hurrell
Nicola Hurrell Hayle doesn't need more homes like sharon lee said y not somethin for everyone to use c
Graham Coad
Graham Coad The thing is that THIS is the scheme that the owners are applying for, and what Hayle and Cornwall Councils will be deciding on.

Speculating about what might be preferable is fun, but this homes proposal is what is on the table.

Sharon Lee
Sharon Lee Well as usual all cut and dried cause it will be houses money talks
Graham Coad
Graham Coad Shop brands that people like can go to the Hayle Rugby Club retail site which recently received planning permission, that's what that site is for!
Graham Coad
Graham Coad Sharon, the Councils do not PROPOSE developments for certain sites but can only respond to planning applications from landowners and developers.
Graham Coad
Graham Coad There IS proven housing need for Hayle in the Affordable Homes sector, and the government requirement for new homes to be built in Cornwall by 2030 has just gone up, Hayle has an "allocation" of several hundred homes on top of all the plans that already have planning permission.

If approved these proposals would go towards the Hayle 'allocation' without building on a greenfield site.
Trevor Maxfield
Trevor Maxfield Are there any green fields left in Hayle, that have not got permission to build?
Eric Martin
Eric Martin Let's hope that the housing goes to locals , I had a discussion with council representatives at the Royal Cornwall show about this.
Large developments of housing for the council , parts are sold to councils all around the country Leeds , Manchester , Birmingham etc.
If we are biulding housing keep it for locals.
David W Raymer
David W Raymer I think this point was taken up at length by John Pollard on Radio Cornwall recently and I think it was stated that it was a complete mith that house were going to Councils up Country . It did happen years ago but that agreement ended many many years ago .
Eric Martin
Eric Martin I have also been told the 500 houses due for construction in Helston , 200 have already been allocated to other councils the one mentioned was Leeds . I don't trust one word our council utters.
Dean Clark
Sylvia Thomas
Sylvia Thomas Good to see something being done with what has been an eyesore for several years now BUT just hope they have allocated enough parking spaces to each property, as on street parking is a nightmare everywhere in Hayle! No point in having all these extra houses if they then are going to clog up the streets!
Jo Quick
Jo Quick At last! Such an eyesore
Nicola Hurrell
Nicola Hurrell Just hope if they do houses that they have parkin unlike the flats that have gone up behind me bs just down the road
Graham Baumbach
Graham Baumbach So.... is RJ's gonna close completely or relocate?
Graham Coad
Graham Coad I think they still have branches in Praa Sands and Penzance.
Graham Baumbach
Graham Baumbach Well yeah, but that's no bleddy use! smile emoticon Where am I gonna buy my plastic chairs from now?
Graham Baumbach
Graham Baumbach Just proves my point from a while back that Hayle really needs a DIY store.....a proper one.
Graham Baumbach
Graham Baumbach I don't go in there often, but they are handy for stuff occasionally....
Kate Abbott
Kate Abbott Well, with 70 units meaning a possible100_140 more cars, let's hope they will build town houses with carports underneath. And let's also hope that each roof has solar panels of some kind built in.
Graham Coad
Graham Coad Kate, look at the plan, 70 dedicated parking spaces.
Kate Abbott
Kate Abbott Yes, thank you Graham, but they are taking up space, put them under the fekkin houses!
Caroline Godwin
Caroline Godwin Hooray. Goodbye eyesore!
Charlie Jenkin
Charlie Jenkin need more council houses whats the point of affordable homes when theres no jobs.
Graham Coad
Graham Coad Charlie Jenkin, "Affordable Homes" includes lower cost rental properties as well.
Charlie Jenkin
Charlie Jenkin good think these private landlords charge far to much, any news on whats going to be at the rugby site graham and when work might start over there.
Graham Coad
Brian Trevaskis
Brian Trevaskis Long overdue to have the site cleaned up. I hope if the plans get passed they incorporate something for the juntion
Graham Coad
Graham Coad I haven't seen anything proposed for the junction Brian
Stephen Cornish
Stephen Cornish For those who don't want to wade through the documents etc. Here's the plan ...
Stephen Cornish's photo.
Graham Coad
Graham Coad See the parking spaces Kate?
Graham Baumbach
Graham Baumbach I'm guessing they're going to completely reconstruct that skanky old back lane then?
Stephen Cornish
Stephen Cornish And a computer generated photo of the proposed development ...
Stephen Cornish's photo.
Andrew Turner
Andrew Turner GOOD... idea because its a brownfield site (if its not on a flood plain)...just make sure the S106 agreements for infrastructure like local needs Schools and Housing etc get priority when its discussed by HTC.
Patrick Kirkham
Patrick Kirkham Let's hope it goes through and the houses for hayle people
Ken Townend
Ken Townend Bit of a dream that Pat. They will no doubt bring families down from up country. Councils buy them and shift down families they want rid of. It's happening all over the place.
Graham Coad
Graham Coad No Ken, that's an "urban myth".
1/ The "Affordable Homes" in Cornwall are for people on the Cornwall Council Homechoice register, and have to be 'bid for' by people with a local connection.

2/ The open market housing can be bought by anyone who can pay, but why would an up country council pay our extortionate house prices when they can buy or build far cheaper in their own areas?
Andrew McPherson
Andrew McPherson Rejuvenating a run down part of Hayle surely has to be another positive step?
Roxie Young
Roxie Young Graham Coad, what will happen with the existing residents, Im all for its renovations, but what worries me is the work may cause problems for people like myself and my family in relation to what is in the building?
Graham Coad
Graham Coad These days demolition and building is strictly controlled by Health and Safety and Building Regulations, but there will still be all the noise and some disruption to immediate neighbours I think.
Roxie Young
Roxie Young Thank you for your quick reply, will the housing be open to locals?
Graham Coad
Graham Coad The "open market" housing will be open to anyone wishing to buy, and as usual, ALL the "affordable homes" will only be available to people with a "local connection".
Mel Anie
Mel Anie If anyone has any concerns they wish to raise with the Council this needs to be done online at the above Planning Link BY the 31st December according to a letter I received.
