HAYLE PENWITH U3A:

Hayle U3A has the following programme this week.  Today, Thursday August 25, at 10am there is Games.  On Tuesday August 30 at 2pm the Film club meets.  All sessions except Writing are held in the Philip Smith annexe to the Hayle Day Care Centre.  The Writing is held in Hayle Library.

ANGARRACK COFFEE MORNING:
Angarrack's next fortnightly coffee morning takes place this Friday, August 26, between 10am and noon at Angarrack Community Centre. All welcome.

MODEL RAILWAY EXHIBITION:

Hayle Model Railway Club and Duchy Railroaders are holding a two day exhibition at the Hayle Day Care Centre, Commercial Road, TR27 4DE on Saturday, August 27 from 10am till 5pm and Sunday August 28 from 10am to 4pm.  There will be 14 layouts in various scales and trade stands.  Admission is £4 for adults, £2 for children, £9 for family (2+2) and under 5s free. Refreshments will be available. There is disabled access. Parking adjacent.  For more information, please phone 01209 712261.

HAYLE HERITAGE CENTRE:

Hayle Heritage Centre is now open for the summer season on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11am and 4pm.  They are based on Foundry Square, on the historic site of Harvey's Foundry, and offer an insight into Hayle's rich social history. There will be a screen printing workshop on Friday August 26 from 10am to 12noon and 12.30pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 5pm.  Suitable for age 8+ (children must be accompanied by an adult), £6 / £3 per child per session. Fun workshops for beginners to explore screen printing from scratch, led by local printmaker Dena O'Brien. Have a go at mixing colours and making stencils to create a range of colourful prints, inspired by Hayle's Industrial Heritage. Print the design onto card and a tote bag to take home! Hayle Heritage Centre has an exhibition with displays uncovering four principal parts of Hayle's rich past: The Foundry, Shipping, Shops and J&F Pool. The exhibition runs until the Heritage Centre closes in October and will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 11am-4pm. FREE ENTRY.

ST ELWYN'S CHURCH:

On Sunday August 28, the fourteenth Sunday after Trinity the Parish Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Rosemary Wickremasinghe at 9.30am.  On Wednesday August 31, Said Eucharist will be celebrated by Father Malcolm at 10 am.  Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after each service.

ST.JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, HAYLE:

St Joseph's Church in Hayle is part of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Holy Family. Father Philip said the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday August 20 with readings from Isaiah - Hebrews and gospel by Luke.

There will be Mass on Friday August 26 at 10am.

Hayle Walk for Cornish Hospice Care is on September 11.  Father Philip will be doing this walk if you wish to sponsor him.

Father Philip took part in a pilgrimage to Lourdes recently incorporating the feast of the assumption.

There will be a special collection next Sunday for the Catholic Childrens' Society.

The "Sunrise" painting by a local artist is still on display at St Ives.
