HAYLE FILM CLUB:
This Saturday, January 14: Hunt for the Wilderpeople, at 7.30pm.
The opening film of the spring season is an adventure-comedy-drama from New Zealand director Taika Waititi (of What We Do in the Shadows). This offbeat story of a pudgy would-be gangsta kid (new face Julian Dennison) hiding from social services in the wilds with a very reluctant foster father (a lovely turn from NZ native Sam Neill) is funny, bittersweet and slightly surreal. 101 min, 12A. As ever, at the Passmore Edwards Institute, house lights down at 7.30pm and home-baked refreshments after. Tickets £5/£4 for members, reserve on 01736 752319.
ST. ELWYN'S CHURCH:
On Sunday January 15, the Second Sunday of Epiphany the Parish Eucharist will be celebrated at 9.30 am. On Wednesday January 18, Said Eucharist will be celebrated by Father Malcolm at 10 am.
