An "immature, unpleasant and controlling" young man who falsely imprisoned his ex-girlfriend and then torched some of her cherished possessions when their relationship came to an end has avoided a prison sentence. A man thought to be the oldest remaining soldier from the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry has recalled his time spent in a Second World War prisoner of war camp ahead of his 98th birthday.
