Madcap community effort sets world record at Par for most pom...
A creative Cornish community has set a world record by making and hanging a garland of more than 8,000 pom poms. The madcap attempt on a spot in the Guinness Book of Records was completed after months of preparation as part of a Big Lunch event at Par Running Track.
Sue Heyward, of the PL24 Community Association, was the one who came up with the idea - and she even recruited Cornwall-based comedian and actor Dawn French to the cause.

An eight-year-old boy has been winched from a gulley and airlifted to hospital by the coastguard helicopter after falling from the cliffs at Pedn Vounder near Porthcurno.
Multiple 999 calls were made by worried passersby after the incident at about 12.15pm.

London terror attack: Police in Cornwall urge people to stay calm...
Cornwall's police force is urging people in the county to remain calm following the terror attack in London which left seven victims dead.
After three men ploughed into pedestrians on London Bridge before getting out of their van and stabbing people in Borough Market before they were shot dead by police, the local force said it was continuing to keep policing under review.

Two drivers injured in crash on Gannel Road A392 at Newquay
Two people were taken to hospital after a collision on the Gannel Road at Newquay.
The emergency services were called to the scene of the two-car crash at about 10pm yesterday (June 3) on the A392.
A male driver of one car and female driver of the other were taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital by ambulance.

The A30 has been closed in one direction due to a crash involving one vehicle.
The emergency services were at the scene in the westbound carriageway near Redruth.

A cannabis smoker and dealer who was so paranoid that someone was hiding in his attic called police to his house where they found £1,200 worth of the drug.
Officers were unable to find any intruder but did detect a strong smell of drugs and a court heard how they found a stash of 127 grams of cannabis and £730 in cash.
