HAYLE FILM CLUB:
Saturday December 12 - Mr Holmes 7.30pm
A Sherlock Holmes film unlike any other. Ian McKellen plays the old legend in a new way, supported by a strong cast, fine production design and glowing cinematography. It is 1947, and Holmes, 93, long ago retired and took up beekeeping. But he is troubled by an old case that forced his retirement, which he feels Watson misrepresented, but is unable to recall clearly. So he embarks on a new kind of sleuthing - searching for his past self. This is at times a playful movie, including Holmes going to a Sherlock Holmes film. This film is supported by the BFI Neighbourhood Project. (2015, 104 min. Rated PG) As ever, at the Passmore Edwards Institute, house lights down at 7.30pm and home-baked refreshments after. Tickets £5/£4 for members, reserve on 01736 75231901736 752319, or book online at www.haylefilmclub.org.uk
