Harvey’s Foundry Regeneration Project - Phase 3

Harvey’s Foundry Trust has exciting plans for the third phase of the Harvey’s Foundry regeneration project in Hayle.

Harvey’s Foundry has already undergone two phases of building work transforming this once derelict but historically important site into a vibrant centre which has encouraged business growth in Hayle.

Harvey’s Foundry Trust wants to build on that success and is now focusing on refurbishing two listed buildings, the Pattern Shop and Plantation Store - as well as creating a new extension on the location of the Cart Shed which unfortunately burned down over 10 years ago.

Working with support from Cornwall Council and its economic development arms length company Cornwall Development Company, the Trust has been able to employ leading conservation architect's Purcell Miller Tritton as the design team for the scheme.
Laura Christon development manager for the Trust said:

“This development will provide high quality and affordable office space for the town through the sympathetic regeneration of these lovely old buildings”

On the 8th and 9th of May from 10 am till 8 pm people will have a chance to view plans and give us their comments . We will then take these on board and work up planning applications.

Councillor John Pollard, chair of Harvey’s Foundry Trust :
'Over the last 10 years Harvey's Foundry Trust have transformed Foundry Lane and created employment opportunities for nearly 100 people.

We now look forward to the third phase of development utilising three historic Foundry buildings. We have always enjoyed great public support and I hope the people of Hayle will contribute their views on our latest plans.'

Ben Freeston, project architect from Purcell Miller Tritton said:

“It is a privilege to be given the opportunity to work on these listed buildings within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as to contribute to the economic regeneration of Hayle.”
