Police
were called at around 7:25pm on Thursday 27 July following reports of a
collision having taken place on the A30 at Loggans, near Hayle.

The collision involved a Renault Clio, Renault Twingo and a Hyundai i20.

The
driver of the Clio is a man in his 20s from the Falmouth area; he
sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

The
driver of the Twingo is a woman in her thirties from the Penzance area,
and despite the best efforts of responders, was sadly pronounced
deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

The two occupants of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries.

The
road was closed overnight whilst an investigation was carried out at
the scene. The scene is now clear, and the road reopened at around
7:15am today, Friday 28 July.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
